Wathoda Molestation Case

Wathoda Police have arrested a man accused of allegedly molesting an 18-year-old woman in the Wathoda area, according to nagpurtoday.in. The arrest followed a complaint filed by the woman's family.

According to the complaint, the incident occurred on September 27. The accused allegedly asked the woman to accompany him on his two-wheeler under the pretext of taking her out to eat noodles. He then reportedly took her to a road near a medical store in the area, where he is accused of molesting her.

After returning home, the woman reportedly informed her family about the incident. Her family subsequently approached Wathoda Police and lodged a complaint. The woman is reportedly undergoing treatment for a mental health condition, according to the complaint. The accused was known to the woman, having previously worked for a family living in her neighborhood, nagpurtoday.in stated.

Pardi Extortion Case

In a separate incident, Pardi Police have arrested two men for allegedly demanding ₹3 lakh from a 25-year-old woman and threatening her. The accused have been identified as Shekhar Verma and Lucky Rahate, according to nagpurtoday.in.

According to the complaint, the two men allegedly threatened to disclose an alleged affair to the woman's husband if she did not pay the money. The incident reportedly escalated when the accused allegedly entered her home while armed with a knife and a wooden stick.

The woman had previously worked for Shekhar Verma in catering but reportedly left the job after finding his behavior inappropriate, nagpurtoday.in reported. After she quit, Shekhar allegedly began threatening her and accused her of having an affair. He reportedly demanded ₹3 lakh to keep the matter secret from her husband.

On September 29, while the woman was alone at home and her husband was at work, Shekhar Verma allegedly arrived at her house along with Lucky Rahate. The woman alleged that both men were carrying a knife and a wooden stick. She claimed that Shekhar waved the knife and threatened to kill her, while his associate allegedly threatened to attack her with the wooden stick, according to nagpurtoday.in.

The woman raised an alarm, which led to neighbors gathering at the scene. Following this, the two accused allegedly fled from the location. Based on the complaint, Pardi Police registered a case under relevant serious provisions, including attempt to murder and the Arms Act, and arrested both accused.
